Ingredient Glossary

We know that a quality product starts with quality ingredients. With a focus on sustainable and responsible sourcing, we strive to leave a positive impact on the communities we source from.

 Beeswax

A non-comedogenic substance that does not clog pores and creates a barrier to protect skin from external irritants.

 Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter has a high concentration of fatty acids that help hydrate skin. These fatty acids hold moisture which allows time for it to be absorbed into skin.

 Shea Butter

Like cocoa butter, shea butter is high in fatty acids that help retain moisture. Shea butter is safe for all skin types due to its low protein content, so it is not likely to cause an allergic reaction. The acid content of shea butter allows for easy absorption into the skin and does not leave an oily residue when applied.

 Coconut Oil

Coconut oil can help hydrate skin when applied as it sits on top of skin and traps moisture beneath it.

 Aloe Vera

A gel derived from the succulent plant that has soothing and hydrating benefits. Aloe vera absorbs into the skin and helps to hydrate dry skin. Aloe vera also has effective properties that help soothe minor sunburns.

 Zinc Oxide

An inorganic compound that sits on top of skin when applied and helps to reflect and block ultraviolet rays. Zinc oxide is not water-soluble, making it waterproof for a period of time (our sunscreen lasts 80 minutes).

 Mango Butter

Extracted from the seeds of mangoes, mango butter is an effective moisturizer. With an abundance of Vitamin C and other antioxidant properties, mango butter helps lock in moisture.

 Sunflower Seed Oil

This oil contains linoleic acid which helps skin retain its natural barrier. Sunflower seed oil is non-comedogenic and is high in antioxidants which promote healthy and hydrated skin.

 Jojoba Oil

A large concentration of essential fatty acids, Vitamin E, and other antioxidants make jojoba oil a great moisturizer with emollient properties. Jojoba oil traps moisture which allows for the hydration and softening of skin

 Tocopherol

Tocopherol is a natural antioxidant that is found in skin oil but with increased exposure to UV light, it can be depleted. Although Tocopherol does not moisturize skin, it does create a barrier that helps lock in moisture. This barrier allows for natural skin oil and topical moisturizers to hydrate and soften skin.

 Olive Oil

Olive oil is rich in vitamins and has antioxidant properties. These help to hydrate and smooth skin.

Rosemary Extract

Due to the nutrients and antioxidants within it, rosemary extract can help tighten and smooth skin. Rosemary also has exfoliant properties that help clear pores of dirt and debris.

 Soybean Oil

Soybean oil contains Linoleic acid which can help strengthen the skin's barrier and lock in moisture. The antioxidant properties of soybean oil can help block skin fom pllutants and irritants.
